So, this is my very first blog! I wonder if anyone is actually going to read this? Who knows...



So - I am on a waking night tonight, and they are hell. I work in a residential home as an assistant manager, but there's only so much paperwork you can do at 4.30am (as it is now!). As I said in my "welcome article", myself and the night staff have been decorating the foyer, dining room, and lounge with christmas decorations in preparation for the "Big Day". Unfortunately, most of the decorations are a few years old (and that is being optimistic!!), so we've had to do the best we can with what we (haven't) got.



I even went back to school, and made those doyly-type snowflakes where you fold up bits of paper and cut out shapes, then when you unfold it you've got a snowflake. That was quite fun until the scissors started to run the skin off my thumb! We've done a pretty decent job, anyway, and I might try and persuade the management to give me cash to get more decs. You never know!



I've discovered some bonuses of working nights, though (yes, there are some!) - someone makes me tea every couple of hours, without me having to ask, and when I'm going home to bed, everyone else is getting up to go to work! I love that feeling : )



So, I hope I've done OK for my first blog. I'll try and keep up the standard! lol
